A well-established private medical practice in Dubai is looking for a highly energetic, motivated, experienced Medical Billing Officer / Insurance Coordinator, who is interested to join a small team of professionals for the long haul. JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
• Responsible for the billing and collection process improvement to maximize reimbursement.
• Responsible for the daily activities of the billing office.
• Ensuring that patients are eligible for services and applying the appropriate charges to insurance or personal billing account.
• Monitoring payments of medical bills, transmit electronic claims, and deal directly with insurance companies.
• Support the negotiating of contracts with payers and ensure that they are abiding by those contracts.
• Overseeing staff in collecting payments for deductibles, office co-pays, and co-insurance.
• Scheduling financial counseling with patients who are looking at large medical bills.
• Running reports monthly to ensure that the accounts are balanced.
• Ensuring that the appropriate billing codes are being used for patients and their doctor’s visits.
• Ensuring that new employees are fully and properly trained before they start working directly with patients, physician offices, and insurance companies.
• Periodically reporting the status of insurance agreements, billing collections and disputes to the Operations Manager
Qualifications and Experience
• Needs to have a Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
• Certification from a medical billing course is a must
• At least five years of experience as a medical coder and biller in the UAE medical industry.
• Experience in the Orthopaedic and Physiotherapy specialties will be an excellent asset!
• Must have experience working with partner insurance networks, healthcare providers and patients.
Preferred Skills
• Fully literate in verbal and written English with excellent communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office products.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a must.
• Excellent knowledge of DHA policies and procedures.
• Good knowledge of the eClaims network.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
